Solvi started with a simple idea: what if a salon just did fewer things and did them really, really well?

We got tired of the noise. The upsells. The surprise charges at checkout. The feeling of being rushed through a service so the next client could sit down. That's not what getting your hair done should feel like. So we built something different in the heart of downtown Boise.

The name Solvi comes from Scandinavian roots, and that influence runs through everything we do. Clean lines. Calm energy. Intentional choices. Our loft space on Capitol Boulevard is flooded with natural light, and we kept the design minimal on purpose. When you walk in, you should feel like you can actually breathe. No clutter, no chaos. Just a warm, bright room where good work happens.

We're a small team by design. That means we know your name, we remember your formula, and we're not bouncing between six chairs at once. Every single appointment gets our full attention. That's the whole point.

Meet the Team

Autumn Schiess, Owner & Lead Stylist

Autumn is the one behind it all. With more than 18 years behind the chair, she opened Solvi because she believed Boise deserved a salon that actually prioritized the client experience over volume. After years of working in busy salons across the Treasure Valley, she knew exactly what she wanted to build: a calm, focused space where stylists have the time to do their best work.

Her specialties include lived-in balayage, dimensional color, hand-tied extensions, and bridal hair and makeup. She's the kind of stylist who will talk you out of something that won't work for your hair, and talk you into something better. Clients from Meridian, Eagle, and across the Boise metro drive to her chair because she's honest, detail-oriented, and consistent.

When she's not behind the chair, Autumn is working on the business itself. Building systems, mentoring new stylists, and making sure every person who sits down at Solvi walks out feeling taken care of.

Mele, Stylist & Bridal & Event Specialist

Mele joined Solvi as a stylist and our Bridal and Event Specialist. She brings a calm, detail focused energy to weddings, special events, and the chair. Her behind the chair menu covers custom color, precision cuts, men's cuts, and a growing focus on hand tied extensions.

Her specialty is event hair and makeup. Thoughtful, polished looks built to hold up in real life and on camera. From bridal trials to wedding morning getting ready throughout Boise and the surrounding Treasure Valley, Mele is the stylist running point on the bridal program.

For larger bridal parties, Mele works alongside owner Autumn Schiess so the morning stays on schedule and every guest gets the attention they paid for.

Our Approach to Hair in Boise

All-Inclusive Pricing. No Surprises.

Here's something that drives us crazy about the salon industry: you book a color appointment, sit down, and then find out the gloss is extra. The blowout is extra. The "finishing" is extra. By the time you check out, you're paying way more than you expected.

We don't do that. At Solvi, every color service includes a luxury gloss and a signature blowout. The price you see is the price you pay. Period.

We also believe in full transparency about what's realistic for your hair. If a look you found on Instagram is going to take three sessions, we'll tell you that upfront. We'd rather be honest and build trust than overpromise and leave you disappointed. That's how we've built our reputation as one of the most trusted hair salons in the Boise area.

Fewer Things, Done Well

We're not trying to be everything to everyone. We focus on color, cuts, extensions, perms, smoothing treatments, and bridal services. That's it. And because we keep our focus tight, we get to be really, really good at those things.

Our extension work uses genius wefts, hand-tied wefts, and k-tips. We take consultations seriously because extensions are an investment, and you deserve to know exactly what you're getting into before you commit. Whether you're coming from Meridian, Star, or right here in downtown Boise, we'll make sure you leave with extensions that look and feel natural.

We also offer perms (yes, they're back and they're amazing) and smoothing treatments for anyone who wants to cut their styling time in half. Idaho's dry climate can be tough on hair, and our smoothing services are designed to work with, not against, the conditions you're actually living in.

Your first visit starts with a real conversation. Not a rushed two-minute check-in. We want to understand your hair history, your lifestyle, how much time you actually spend styling in the morning, and what you're hoping to achieve. From there, you'll settle into our loft on Capitol Boulevard. Big windows. Natural light. A cup of coffee or water if you want it. The vibe is relaxed but focused. You won't hear loud music or feel like you're in a factory. It's calm, it's intentional, and it's designed so you can actually enjoy the experience.

When your service is done, we'll walk you through how to maintain your results at home. We'll show you how to style it, which products actually matter (and which ones you can skip), and when to come back. No hard sells. Just honest guidance so your hair stays looking great between appointments.

Membership Programs

For clients who want to keep things consistent, we've built three membership options:

• The Root Club ($99/month) is perfect if you're on a regular root touch-up schedule. You get your root service plus a blowout every month, and 10% off Davines retail.
• The Weekly Ritual ($150/month) gives you four blowouts per month. If you love having fresh hair every week without thinking about it, this one's for you.
• The Lifestyle Member ($85/month) includes two blowouts per month, plus that same 10% retail discount. Great for anyone who wants a regular refresh without the full weekly commitment.

Memberships are our way of making it easy and affordable to keep your hair looking the way you want it to look. No complicated contracts. Just consistent care at a price that makes sense.

We carry their retail line in the salon, and we're always happy to help you find the right products for your hair type. No pressure to buy anything. We just want you to have the tools to keep your hair healthy between visits.

Our salon is located in downtown Boise, right on Capitol Boulevard. We're easy to find with plenty of parking nearby.
